Christmas Cousins

That's right...SEVEN...count em...SEVEN little Lombard boys. Lawson completed our "Seven under Seven in 07" campaign. We got them all matching Christmas pajamas...yes, it will be weird when they're all teenagers...and yes, we'll still do it! (from left back; Blake, Tyler, Jax, Sam, Parker. from left front; Gray, Lawson.

Friends and Family

It was great to see friends and family at the hospital during our stay. People always said that the second is different than the first. Less hype, less pictures, less concern. We now agree because we forgot to take pictures of most of our friends and family. On the other hand, I'm happy to report our second child has also brought a more relaxed, less anxious style of parenting. We seem to be enjoying each moment without worrying about what we're forgetting or the structure of a rigid schedule...wheww, it's nice!
One funny family moment happened when Wade's entire family came to the hospital to visit. Ashley walked in alongside Blake with Jax and Sam in the double stroller while "front-packing" Gray in the baby bjorn. In tow was Wayne, Donna, Lindsey, and Parker. In a matter of minutes the hospital room became a daycare center...it was crazy (and fun).

Lawson's First Day

Our wonderful doctor and dear friend Tim Stone told us we could induce a little early (avoiding Christmas @ St. Vincent's). We arrived at 6 am with memories of the 12 hours ordeal with Jax just 15 months earlier. We told our families to take their time and not to worry about getting to the hospital before lunch. Lawson had more of a sense of urgency than his older sibling because after just 17 minutes of pushing he arrived unfashionably early at 10:57 am.

BIG BROTHER

While we're definitely not fans of shirt messages this one was a no brainer. We bought it weeks before Lawson was due so Jax would have this special shirt for the special day. As you can see he wears it with pride. I'm thinking Jax's "fullness" makes the letters stand out that much more.

Presenting J. Lawson Lombard!

There is no better way to end a rough year than having a baby like Lawson. Our anticipation was met with a beautiful, healthy boy. He was born on December 12, 2007 weighing in at 6 lb. 14 oz, 20.5 inches long. He's an amazing sleeper, eater, and "eliminator". It looks like he'll have his Mom's big blue eyes (matching his brother's). He rarely cries, preferring grunting (which is fine with us). We were blessed on Christmas Eve with Lawson sleeping all the way through the night...Lawson scored with the best Christmas present for his mom.

We were fortunate enough to have Becky Abernathy (http://www.abernathyphotographics.com/), our close friend, photograph Lawson during his first couple of weeks. I chose this picture because I think my wife looks gorgeous and Lawson looks great too!!!

New Beginnings!!!

Kimberly and I have spent three years in Birmingham, Alabama, the place we thought we'd live forever. The place where we were born and raised. The place where our parents live. The place where our two sons were born. In October of 2007 God showed us a new plan. His plan. We're excited about what's next for us in Austin , Texas. 2008 will be marked as the year of new beginnings...the launch of Jeremy's church, Free Chapel (freechapelaustin.com) and our business, SquareCow Moovers. We'll routinely update our blog so our friends and family can keep up with us throughout our journey.

Regards,
Wade, Kimberly, Jax & Lawson
