Squirt Park at the Hill Country Galleria

From my most recent posts, you can see that we do try to keep ourselves busy here in Austin. Wade was off work for the afternoon, so we decided to take Ashley's three oldest and our two boys to the squirt park. It is right in the middle of an outdoor shopping mall. Everyone had a good time for about thirty minutes then decided to pack up and go home. Everyone wanted a snack! Sam even got injured at the very beginning, so poor guy only played for a few minutes! I have to give it to them, though. It was 101 degrees outside!

Summerfest

Some of our friends, Jason and Lisa, invited us to a Summerfest at Hill Country Bible Church here in Austin. It was awesome. There were so many activities for the kids and food (at cost). All the boys had such a good time. Jax was a little young to really know how to play any of the games. But he loved watching Blake and Tyler do everything. Lawson laughed so much just watching people as he sat in the stroller. Jax enjoyed drinking this sprite almost as much as being at the event! Lawson

Big Top Candy Shop

A new Austin Fam Favorite...Big Top Candy Shop in downtown! We visited this candy shop after having dinner at the Woodland. It was such a treat. Lawson had a few bites of my milkshake. Jax, on the other hand, had a pack of fun dip. The top pic is a few other things that he had picked out before we got to the counter!

Jumperoo

This was Lawson's first time in his jumperoo. I can't say that he loves it, at this point. But we're going to keep trying it. Jax likes to assist him, so maybe that's the problem??!!

Elmo and Rain Boots

Jax went through a stage where whatever Elmo was doing on Sesame Street, he needed to do the same. In this particular episode, Elmo was talking about what to wear when it rains. We only have the boots, so he runs to his closet to put these on each time he watches it!

Father's Day

I'm a little late in posting this. But, it was way too fun not to mention. We took the "dad's" out for a boat ride on Monday after Father's Day. The kids all stayed with sitters while we took out this boat and went tubing for four hours. Lake Travis is gorgeous. The weather was perfect. Wade and Ashley would've won if we had been competing on who stayed on the longest. They were incredible!

Home Sweet Home

Everyday, even though it's been a while, I realize that I truly do live very far away from what I used to call "home" and from my immediate family. Now, Austin is very much home. I've met some wonderful people here. Below are pics of our apartments. And the one on the bottom is a view from our balcony to Lake Travis. There is a constant breeze (even at 102 degrees outside!!)
Wade works ALOT! For that I am grateful but at times sad as well. My friend, Lisa, invites me and the boys over a lot to play at her house. She has three kids under 3!! She helps me understand how to be an effective parent! And she only lives a couple of miles down the road. So, its great.
Free Chapel is keeping us busy as the launch date approaches. As you read this blog, please just say a quick prayer that God continues to fulfill the needs of Free Chapel. God has answered so many amazing and impossible prayers over the past few weeks. PTL!
